Councillor calls for action to address Mill Rd safety concerns

Manurewa-Papakura ward councillor Daniel Newman says there’s a desperate need for safety upgrades to Mill Rd to reduce the risk to road users, Stuff reports. Government plans for safety improvements to south Auckland’s Mill Rd remain a work in progress after a wider upgrade was axed earlier this year. Newman described the Government’s decision to walk away from the wider Mill Rd project in June as a “major disappointment”. But he said existing road safety issues have to be addressed to cater for the area’s growing population.
