Food businesses in central Auckland say they have lost thousands of dollars’ worth of stock, Stuff reports, after an overnight power outage on Tuesday lasting more than 16 hours. A Vector spokesman confirmed on Wednesday morning there were 37 power outages across the Auckland region. But Danielle Butler, owner of The Pie Piper cake shop on Karangahape Rd, said swifter notice from Vector about the power shortage could’ve helped to save stock.
