A great white shark, dead, washed up on Omaha beach in Auckland on Thursday, Newshub reports. According to locals, the shark was caught in a net before it became stranded on the shoreline. Meanwhile, Newsroom says that another warm summer means humans and sharks mixing in the same space, with Great White numbers increasing thanks to the protection they now enjoy. Stu Curd, commodore at the Bowentown Boating & Sport Fishing Club, believes the apex predators are coming into the harbour because that’s where the fish are.
