The father of a toddler who died in suspicious circumstances says he was devastated to learn of his daughter’s death – as he does not reside at the same address, it came as a shock, Stuff reports. Two-year-old Arapera Fia died in Starship Hospital on October 31 after being found at a Weymouth address in Auckland with “critical injuries,” police said. Arapera’s maternal grandmother, on behalf of the family, said they wanted answers on what happened. “We are in as much shock as the rest of Aotearoa.” The family asked for privacy for the whānau to “mourn our precious baby”.
