The daughter of a woman living at a Covid-stricken Auckland rest home says she is “surprised” case numbers there have risen so high, Stuff reports. She had no idea how the virus could have got in as there were strict rules around visiting. Fifteen residents of the 60-bed Edmonton Meadows Care Home have now tested positive for Covid-19 and three are being cared for in hospital. Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield said all staff at the rest home had been fully vaccinated and there were “high” vaccination rates among the residents.
