It’s been a mammoth period in isolation for the 1.5 million people who call Auckland home, Newshub reports. On Thursday, the region hit 100 days of lockdown – a stint which began with a single case in the community back in mid-August. Over the course of the next few months, the Delta outbreak brought 17 changes to alert levels, 7484 cases and eventually an end to the Government’s elimination strategy. To date, there are 83 people with COVID-19 in hospital, and more than 5000 active cases; 92% of people eligible for the vaccine have had their first dose and 84% are fully vaccinated.
