Auckland has slid up two places in the list of the world’s longest Covid-19 lockdowns, Stuff reports. In total, Tāmaki Makaurau has now spent 181 days in either alert level 4 or 3 since the beginning of the pandemic in early 2020, with Thursday marking 100 days in lockdown since the Delta variant arrived in August. Auckland is now in seventh place – just below Scotland and Malaysia, but well below Melbourne’s 263 total days in lockdown, which remain the longest in the world.
