Large plumes of smoke were seen billowing from a fire in the roof of a two-storey home on Mayn Ave, Sandringham, on Thursday afternoon, Stuff reports. Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 1.20pm and three fire engines were sent. There are no reported injuries. Neighbour Luafulu Tofa, who called Emergency Services, said it happened “so fast”. “My husband and I were doing work in the backyard and then turned around and saw the light on top of the house and thought, ‘that’s not a light’.” Large parts of the house appeared to have been gutted by the fire.
