Police were caught off-guard on the weekend when 40 cows tried to hoof it to the green pastures of Level 2 in the south, Stuff reports. “Some local four-legged residents decided they wanted to try to breach our strict border restrictions,” said a police spokesperson. “The cattle soon realised the grass was not greener on the other side,” said the spokesperson. Police, Defence Force staff and the farmer were able to herd the cattle back to their property. “Police decided to let the cattle off with a warning on this occasion.”
