AT announces that, due to KiwiRail discovering some faults on sections of the track between Papakura and Puhinui, travelers should expect longer journey times and reduced services on the Southern Line. Speed restrictions have been applied to ensure that trains can continue to operate until repairs can be carried out, but from 28 June to 1 July Southern Line services are predicted to run at a 20-minute frequency during peak periods. AT apologised for the inconvenience, stating, “We are working hard with KiwiRail to enable them to carry out the engineering work needed to get train services back to normal.”
